Some of the very best restaurants in the Hamptons are in the lovely village of Montauk. You’ll find plenty to do in Montauk, including surfing, chilling at gorgeous beaches, and eating your way through countless cafes and restaurants.
Here you can (and should!) indulge in both the local specialties (seafood, duh!) and a superb international cuisine, from Mexican to Mediterranean and, of course, American comfort food.
Regardless of how long you’re staying in Montauk, you’ll surely find a new place to enjoy dinner every night. Check out the best Montauk restaurants, and save the list for when you’re there!
The Lobster Roll
The Lobster Roll is probably one of the most acclaimed restaurants in all of Long Island – and my personal favorite on this list.
Also known as LUNCH, this restaurant is right outside Montauk, and has been since the 1950s. While they serve various types of seafood, their indisputable staple is the lobster roll, which you can enjoy either hot or cold.
The Lobster Roll is Mountauk’s (isn’t it the country’s?) favorite summer sandwich, and when I tell you that the location is by the beach and they also have craft cocktails, you’ll know you can’t miss stopping by.
Lobster Roll only opens during the summer season.
Address: 1980 Montauk Highway
Montauk Brewing Company
No list of Montauk best restaurants would be complete without a brewery to order a pint. In fact, Long Island might be mostly known for its vineyards, but they also make good beer!
At Montauk Brewing Company (any of their six locations, actually) you’ll find summer-related craft beers that range from the Wave Chaser IPA to the Summer Ale and Driftwood Ale, as well as some original beer flavors that include pumpkin and watermelon, any of which you can enjoy in the beautiful patio with a bag of pretzels. If you can’t seem to settle for one, try them all in the Tasting Room!
Tasting Room Address: 62 South Erie Avenue
Opening Hours: Saturday & Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM; Monday, Thursday & Friday opens at 2 PM
Happy Bowls
At Happy Bowls, you’ll get to build your own bowl. Be it a smoothie, acai, or even a poke bowl, you can choose your favorite ingredients to top it with, and enjoy a delicious, custom-made bowl to take with you to the beach or eat on-site.

One of the best restaurants in Montauk, NY for freshly caught fish is Harvest on Fort Pond. Boasting an Italian cuisine with some twists, and specialized in making family-style meals, this restaurant is nestled on Fort Pond, offering great views of the sunset over it and an outside seating area for alfresco dining.
The Harvest restaurant in Montauk also features a bar and lounge, where you can get craft cocktails and beers, and while you’ll mainly find seafood on the menu, there are also some veggie salads and pizzas, all made with homegrown produce.

[PERMANENTLY CLOSED] La Fin Kitchen & Lounge
La Fin is one of the best places to eat in Montauk if you want spectacular scenery as a backdrop for your meal. Since it’s located right by the water, I highly suggest seating in their terrace to admire the movement in the docks of Montauk Harbor. Their indoor setting, however, is just as beautiful!
Their farm-to-table policy ensures that all ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, allowing them to boast a seasonal produce-based French cuisine.
The menu includes small and large plates which you can choose depending on your hunger level, as well as dishes to share, seafood, and vegetarian options. Snacks and juices are also available, as well as tempting craft cocktails.
La Fin is a seasonal restaurant, and it opens in the spring for the warm season. Check their current opening hours on their website!
