La Brunilda Tapas

La Brunilda Tapas is a regular fixture on anyone’s list of the best tapas joints in Seville, and the first place I visited when I arrived in Seville. Located at a backstreet in El Arenal, this tapas bar started a new wave of gourmet eateries in the city.

The bar itself features a modern casual look and a surprising array of creative tapas, which results in long queues among local patrons and tourists alike. If you want to make sure you find a table, get here a good 20 minutes before opening time. Prices are also surprisingly affordable for these gourmet tapas.

El Rinconcillo

Well known as the oldest tapas bar in Seville, and by many considered the best tapas bar in Seville as well, El Rinconcillo was founded in 1670. Unbelievable, right?

The menu here is marked with tradition as you’ll find mostly pork-based products, some of which are brought from Sierra de Huelva. You can expect this to feel a bit touristy since it’s probably the most famous tapas bar in Seville, but the restaurant has still managed to retain its authentic charm with barely updated interiors. Casa Morales

They have a fantastic array of options for local wines and traditional tapas, most of which feature cured meats and top-quality cheeses. Other must-try items on the menu are their montadito sandwiches, stews, and chicharrones (pork crackling).

On top of offering the perfect traditional tapas, they have a few other recommended items on the menu such as their crispy fried bacalao and their grilled mushrooms with jamon (ham) and salsa verde.

Mechela

Mechela is one of the tapas bars in Seville that is really worth a try. They offer traditional cuisine with a modern approach, as reflected by the trendy bar’s ambiance and interior aesthetic.

With a rich array of tapas to choose from, but also with a variety of other dishes such as pasta, salads, meats, and fish dishes, this restaurant stands out. Make sure to reserve ahead of time because of the limited seating!

Casa Ricardo

Casa Ricardo feels and looks like a traditional Andalusian restaurant, and it’s no surprise considering it has been around since 1915!

On top of being widely recognized for its history and the authentic interiors of the bar, the restaurant in the San Lorenzo neighborhood wins over the locals’ and tourists’ hearts with their impressive tapas selection that includes both traditional and innovative tapas.

Some would say it’s possibly the best in town! What about sirloin with whiskey sauce, or fried aubergines with salmorejo? Yummy!

La Azotea

La Azotea is a fusion restaurant that is considered by many as one of the best tapas restaurants in Seville, which is hard to argue with when it’s consistently recommended by locals who know their tapas.

The Scandi-inspired interior provides the perfect setting for their artfully plated tapas, and the tapas menu is also beautifully complemented by modern creations including their burrata cheese, tomato, and lemon sorbet salad.
