10 Essential Fashion Accessories for Your Travels

Packing for a trip can be daunting. Choosing the right outfits, especially if you are trying to travel light, might feel a mission impossible. But what if I tell you that there’s a trick? You can pack plain clothes such as white and black tops and such, and then turn them glamorous by adding the right accessories. Which ones? Here are 10 essential fashion accessories for your travels around the world.

A blaze of colour in Marrakech

Be prepared to a blaze of colours, sounds, and smells in Marrakech. A trip to Marrakech is an overly-sensorial experience, and you should keep this in mind when preparing your luggage. Combine long, airy dresses – this is Africa! – with some statement colored rings and bangles.Carry a scarf with you, not to keep you warm of course, but there will be occasions you will want or need to cover your head, especially if visiting religious sites or traditional villages in the Atlas mountains.

The beach life in Phuket

Packing for a beach break in beautiful Thailand? You can’t leave without a straw hat.  Besides making any outfit instantly glamorous, it will protect you from the heat and the sun – trust me, you’ll thank me.

And obviously, a new swimsuit! This year I am totally obsessed with cheeky one-piece swimming suits, with ethnic or particular prints. The beach life in Thailand is amazing, but here are the 5 top things to do in Phuket beyond the beach.

Effortlessly stylish in Stockholm

I was in Stockholm just over a month ago, and I was amazed at how every woman seemed so effortlessly well dressed. Scandinavian style is minimalist and favours the use of pastel and delicate colours.  You know my essential fashion accessories are hats, as they look fantastic in any occasion. It gets quite chilly even in the summer in Stockholm, so a wool hat will never look out of place.

Bring with you a nice but comfy backpack, so you can use it both for sightseeing and for excursions out of the city. Even better, shop for it in Stockholm itself, where you can find many shops of design brands.

Timeless luxury in Paris

Oooo-lalà! What screams Paris more than a Chanel bag? A Chanel bag is the ultimate timeless symbol of luxury and French elegance. Combine it with a Hermès coloured foulard, then hit the Champs Elysées:  nobody will be able to tell you are not a real Parisian!

Yes, I know, these are expensive fashion accessories for your travels (and not only), but if you’re celebrating a particular milestone in your life or your boyfriend has promised you a special gift, why not? We need to be spoiled sometimes! You can find a pre-owned Chanel bag for less than you think.

Sunshine meets hippie in Barcelona

You might already know that I moved to Barcelona a few months ago. I feel I still haven’t got to know the city properly, but I realized that my style has changed a bit. The style here is very relaxed, colorful and joyous, and I love how locals seem to mix extravagant clothing and accessories with more classical ones.

Look for a pair of good sunglasses – you will need them – even better if you find a vintage model at some second-hand market. Combine your favourite pair of denim shorts with some sturdy sandals (remember you will walk a lot).  Choose something like Birkenstock that will give that hippie touch to your outfit. Same tips for Lisbon as well!
